Configuring HTS VPN Client
HTS VPN is a versatile and powerful VPN solution that supports various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux, and others. To set up the HTS VPN Client on your computer, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Downloading the HTS VPN Client
- Go to the official HTS VPN website (https://my.hts-hosting.com/) and navigate to the "Download" section.
- Choose the appropriate client version for your operating system (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Download the installation package and save it to your computer.
Step 2: Installing the HTS VPN Client
- Run the installation package you downloaded in the previous step.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the HTS VPN Client on your system.
- Once the installation is complete, launch the SoftEther VPN Client Manager.
Step 3: Adding a New VPN Connection
- In the SoftEther VPN Client Manager, click on the "Add VPN Connection" button (the icon with a plus (+) sign).
Step 4: Configuring the VPN Connection
- In the "New VPN Connection Setting" window, enter a Connection Name for the VPN connection (e.g., MyVPN).
- In the "Host Name" field, input the hostname or IP address of the VPN server you want to connect to. Note that you can find this information in your inbox Email or in your account on HTS Hosting Website .
- Choose the "Virtual Hub Name" from the drop-down list.
- Select the appropriate "Auth Type" based on the authentication method required by your VPN server (e.g., "Password" for username and password authentication).
- Enter your username and password in the provided fields. Again, obtain these credentials from your VPN provider or network administrator.
- If your VPN server requires a specific user/group name, enter it in the "User Name (optional)" field.
- Click "OK" to save the configuration.
Step 5: Connecting to the VPN
- In the SoftEther VPN Client Manager, you should now see the VPN connection you just added in the list.
- Double-click on the VPN connection to initiate the connection. Alternatively, select the connection and click the "Connect" button (green icon with a power symbol).
- If everything is configured correctly, the SoftEther VPN Client will establish a connection to the VPN server, and you will be connected to the VPN network.
Step 6: Disconnecting from the VPN
- To disconnect from the VPN, go back to the SoftEther VPN Client Manager.
- Select the connected VPN connection in the list.
- Click the "Disconnect" button (red icon with a power symbol).
